LIMITED PROTECTION TO CERTAIN AREAS …
Chemical rust inhibiting spray products offer limited protection against rust as they are limited to the actual sprayed surface, which is usually the inner cavity areas of the body panels below the window line as well as the underside of the vehicle’s exposed floor board and wheel well areas. Any missed sprayed areas or areas that cannot be reached, such as above the window line, the pillars, the roof and inside seam areas are left unprotected.
CHEMICAL RUST INHIBITING SPRAY DOES NOT PENETRATE METAL …
The majority of today’s vehicles no longer rust from the inside-out except along seam areas where the seam seal is broken. Many times, the metal will rust on the outside surfaces simply because the paint on the surface area has been broken and has allowed the metal to be exposed to the elements, or because of a paint bubble where no paint is broken, but the area did not allow the paint to properly adhere to the surface during manufacture, and over time due to a microscopic amount of air trapped under the paint, the exposed metal surface will corrode due to condensation from the temperature changes throughout the year, and eventually the bubble gets bigger and bigger, and if left alone will eventually corrode into a hole. Chemical rust inhibiting spray products cannot protect against this, even if you sprayed the outside painted areas.
CHEMICAL RUST INHIBITING SPRAYS ARE NO HELP AGAINST CERTAIN RUST CONDITIONS …
Such as exposed paint due to stone chips, scratches or chipped paint? Any chemical spray that was injected into the panels of your vehicle has absolutely now way of protecting the outer exposed metal surface from rusting.
COST AND INCONVENIENCE …
Annually applied chemical rust inhibiting spray products are costly over time since they must be applied yearly, and inconvenient when you have to drive it back to be re-sprayed. We haven’t even mentioned the unpleasant odors or the mess in your garage or driveway from products that drip. |
